Matthew, best advice is probably to register asap to avoid the chance of being turned down if too late. They are well organised, but overnighting mooring facilities are of course limited.
As for general info, they\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll send pretty comprehensive information by mail later. They will offer fair accommodation Formule on the camping ground in Port Blanc in separate 2- and 4-bunk cabins including breakfast, or you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll have to look for accommodation yourself. Slim chances by now.
Cross-Channel ferry bookings are your own business. During the event, they have a fleet of free buses to ferry crews between locations. Likewise, a fleet of ribs and dinghies ferry crews out to their moorings. Great friendliness all round.
Safety equipment: Foreigners have leave to limit their own safety equipment aboard their boats to what is standard in their home country. No sweat, all very friendly.
One thing you better bring is a navigation chart of the area. There is a big \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Comptoir de la Mer\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' chandlery in Auray, but it is not easy to find there.
P.S. Proper navchart is SHOM 7137L .

I just heard an exciting rumour: The \\\'Mother of All Raids\\\' -up and down the Douro Valley- may be repeated 2011 and 2012. Stay tuned.

Thanks Clause; very helpful. I have applied for registration (Group 7) and I am waiting hopefully for acceptance. Looks excellent fun. ... I have a fair idea what the Douro Valley would look like -and would be like- if it was in close vicinity to London, Paris or Munich. Thank God it is where it is. Being able to go without much ado to such wonderful locations all over Europe is the essence of trailer sailing for us.

Hi Claus After watching BayRaiders blast around the Golfe 2 years ago whilst I pottered along in my Lugger am returning this year with Odette,my lovely Bay Raider. I have tried everywhere to get a tidal atlas of the Morbihan and a really good large scale map of the Golfe. Can you advise? Thanks Regards Chris North

Hi Chris, pleased to be making your acquaintance. Heard about you from Henley Whalers.
Navcharts with tidal information: SHOM 7137L or IMRAY C39. I think the SHOM has the better scale 1:20,000 .
When they mail you detailed final informations, or with your registration pack upon your arrival, you will get all tide times for the participating localities. Or you can get the tides from easytide UK before your departure.
Hope this helps.

::)I Thanks Clause very helpful. Good old Whalers, hopefully they will be with us in Flot 7. Has anyone produced very detailed tidal flow charts like those you can get for the Solent or is that a secret known only to Morbihan locals? I got caught out by several tidal gates last time I was there and had to resort to my outboard. I\\\'ll probably be following the crowd so will just have to keep up this time. regards Chris

Hi, Chris. I fear neither of us will be keeping up with Claus this year! Looks like he has swapped from LLafurio (BR20) to Craic (Sea Raider). Thats the boat (just in case you didnt know) that came second in the Caledonia raid straight out of the box....and then only because an 8 oared gig rowed past him in a calm! Some say that the wet paint reduced skin friction or some such but the truth is that a Bayraider is a de-tuned Sea Raider ....or to put it another way, a Sea Raider is a BayRaider on steroids. Either way, its lucky I dont have a competative bone in my body..... (Yeah. Right!)

Douro Raid 2011 / 2012 : Sorry to report the project has been withdrawn. Financial reasons.
Morbihan 2011 : The BayRaiders in Flotilla 7 are only the second largest group of boats there. From what I can see the \\\'Guepards\\\' are the most numerous, followed by 10 BayRaiders 20. Another strong group of boats to be watched in that Flotilla will be the several \\\'Stir Ven\\\' designed by Francois Vivier. And many other interesting boats, among them one \\\'King Alfred\\\' class boat, designed by Nigel Irens, equipped with an electric inboard.

Morbihan 2011: In the information pack that came by post there is this \\\'Bulletin d\\\' engagement aux regates..\\\" This needs to be filled out and sent back until May 27 by anyone wishing to partake in the races which will be organised for Flottillas 3,4, 5 and 7.
Question: What is \\\'N° de cagnard\\\'? What is \\\'No Licence FFV\\\'?

re: Question: What is \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'N° de cagnard\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'? What is \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'No Licence FFV\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'?
Cagnard is the number given for a race Licence FFV (Fédération Française de Voile) pertains members of the French Sailing Club, when applicable. See you there soon

Merci, Guy. So the Cagnard No. is probably the individual number the organisers will assign to the boat prior to arrival. I assume they\\\'ll fill this in themselves. BTW, the fax No. they gave on the form did not work for me. So I sent that to the official Semaine fax No. .
Tuesday morning, before we sail over from Arradon to Ile d\\\'Arz, we could gather outside Arradon mooring area and sail out as a group. Any takers, when shall we say, 9:30 or 10?
