Sandpipers
« on: October 17, 2006, 10:31:52 PM »

Hi, I am both a sailor and a canoeist, looking to merge these two interests. With a very limited budget, I wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of a Sandpiper that is looking for a new home. Any pointers really welcome. Thanks. David.

Hi David,
As you ask for a Sandpiper: I know one for sale near my home for about GBP 1850. Though I don\\\'t understand how to canoe that boat. It is 5.65m long, 2.15m wide and it\\\'s draught varies from .25 to .84m. If that\\\'s what you are looking for, feel free to contact me. It includes an 8hp Yamaha outboard, a mainsail of 8.7 sq.m. and a jib of 6.8 sq.m.
Kindly, Erwin.

Wrong Sandpiper, I think! The Swallow Boats version is 12\\\' by 2\\\' and a bit and is definitely \\\"canoeable\\\". An 8hp outboard would make her sort of interesting. See \\\"Discontinued craft\\\" on their Home page.

Hi David, I have just decided reluctantly to sell my 2006 Solway Dory Curlew class open sailing canoe. Have a look at the Solway Dory website and click on sailing canoes and curlew.

She is as new with a lug rig main and mizzen in cream colour. She is fitted out in solid ash gunnels, leeboard, rudder. She is a delight to sail and quick too.

I just have too many boats and have decided to cut down from three boats to just one. New she costs £1700 plus extras and I would sell her for £1000.
