Due to my home location (Coventry West Midlands) most of my sailing is on local reservoirs. Severn Trent being the Utility for Draycote Water. On joining the local sailing club at Draycote a question was asked on how I launched the boat i.e. was a car involved.
Use of a motor vehicle raised eyebrows, possible pollution of the water if it accidently entered and submerged itself.
So, I looked into fitting an electric trailer mover to alleviate there concerns and I can happily say the installation of the powrlaunch system has been most succesfull and allows me to submerge the trailer until the boat floats off and floats back on again to recover.
The slipway is concrete and smooth so this helps, not sure on how it would behave on sand/gravel though. The control of the movement is by a remote hand held and all directions of movement (on a horizontal plane i might add are available). Speed is quite slow but motor power never seems to be an issue.
