New BR20 launch in Australia
« on: October 15, 2011, 11:09:41 am »

Hi all,

We just launched \\\"Hirundo\\\" down here in Tasmania.  She is a modified BR20  and there is a short clip of her initial sail  at the link below;

http://youtu.be/ZiR8tYTwA1I

All sailing in the clip was done un-ballasted. Still a few minor tweaks to go but wow, does she fly!

regards,

Andrew,

It certainly looks fast - good video.

The modifications that I can see are a battened main, permanent bowsprit, bobstay and conventionally-sheeted  foresail.  Also a one-piece mainmast, three reefing points on the mainsail and an independent forestay.  Anything else?

How have you mounted the bowsprit on the deck and did you consider an overlapping foresail?
