Click here to find most of your Swallow Boats Kit questions answered. Do we Sell Plans? At present Swallow Boats do not sell plans for their boats, but instead prefer to ship their kits worldwide. However due to rising demand we may soon offer what we are calling panel kits, which will represent a half-way house between full kits and plans. They will comprise all the plywood for a given boat CNC cut to shape, together with a set of plans and our full set of standard annexes (see sample instructions). We will probably offer a modular system whereby you can choose to buy the sails, epoxy and hardwood and possibly some fittings from us too. They have the advantage of circumventing the need for lofting and they ensure that you end up with a very accurate boat that fits together easily. The panel kits will be significantly cheaper than complete kits. They will not contain every screw, cleat and length of rope as our current kits do, but will leave more experienced builders to add their own touch. They will also be more suitable for our larger craft. If you are interested in panel kits then please contact us. What do the Kits Contain? The full kits contain everything that you need except the paint and oars. We do provide oar kits for those that want them. The epoxy, sails, rigging, rope, fittings, screws etc are all included. How long do they take to build? This obviously depends on the boat. Most people take around 3-4 months to finish our Storm 15 kit. We take around 180 hours but are obviously set up to do it.
