We are Selling our Strip-Planked Storm 17 Hull
 Click to see real size After much deliberation, we have decided to offer the strip plank storm 17 hull (that we used to make the GRP mould from) for sale. Our initial intention was to turn her into an even more beautiful, wooden version of her GRP sisters, but we have reluctantly concluded that we do not have the time to dedicate and do justice to this hull.

She is built in 12mm strip planked Western Red cedar, over closely spaced moulds. Several coats of epoxy were then applied and she was also sheathed in glass. The weave was then filled with epoxy microlight filler and faired back. The surface finish is excellent, though she should be washed and lightly sanded to remove and waxy mould release, prior to undercoating and painting.
She can be transported on a trailer, either owner supplied, or we can quote you for a Bramber swinging cradle trailer.

A lovely piece of work she gives any owner/builder a massive headstart. Support from Swallowboats for building advice, plans and layout and sail and rig details will be part of the bundle. We want to see her turned into something special.

Grey Primer is used to ensure the surface finish is excellent for the GRP moulds to be taken off. The batten on the hull gives an idea of the colour break line position and shows off her curves
