Final rigging details. | SeaRaider number 1, named "Craic" by her owner, was launched over the Easter weekend (14th April 2006) and on only her second outing, clocked an impressive 9.9knots on the GPS. There have been several teething issues but overal we are very pleased. Some photos are shown below, but let us know what you think... |
With four on board and her ballast tanks full. The cradle trailer makes launching very easy Tha mast sits on a tabernacle which allows it to be easily lowered.A mooring cover/cockpit tent will have a large run-off angle for drainage Tanks full again. Tanks Empty in light winds. She is extremely stable. Another shot in very light conditions The first launch. Rigging the mizzen is usually done first. The boat can then be made to weather cock while rigging the other sails The Owners Launch Party SeaRaider under jib and mizzen Motoring home for Outboard tests. The engine must be a short shaft. The owner has a 2.3HP Honda Under oars in her first rowing trial. Strong winds and choppy water provided a challenge, but the layout seemed to work fine She was designed primarily as a sailing boat, but we are hoping she will surprise us with her performance under oars |
